Zubkov Viktor Alexeevich

Viktor Alexeevich Zubkov was born on September 15, 1941, in Arbat village, Kushvinsky District, Sverdlovsk Oblast.

In 1965 he graduated from Leningrad Agricultural Institute majoring in Economics.

V. Zubkov headed a number of agro-industrial enterprises and specialized departments of Leningrad Oblast authorities.

In 1992 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the External Relations Committee of the St. Petersburg Mayor Office.

In 1993 he became Deputy Head of Federal Tax Service – Head of St. Petersburg State Tax Inspection.

In 1999 V. Zubkov was appointed Deputy Minister for Taxes and Fees and Head of the Russian Taxes and Fees Ministry Department in St. Petersburg.

In 2001 he became First Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation and Head of Russian Financial Monitoring Committee.

Since March 2004 – Head of Federal Financial Monitoring Service.

On September 14, 2007 V. Zubkov was appointed Prime Minister of the Russian Federation by the Presidential Decree.

On May 12, 2008 he became First Deputy Prime Minister the Russian Federation.

On June 27, 2008 V. Zubkov was elected Chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors.

V. Zubkov was awarded a Ph.D degree.

V. Zubkov is married and has a daughter.
